SPECIAL NATIONAL CONVENTION AFFIRMS NEW SET OF ELECTED OFFICERS OF ATING KOOP PARTY LIST

AMPARO RIMAS LEADERSHIP


The Special National Convention of ATING KOOP Party List, held last January 21, 2012,  has confirmed its new set of officers, led by Ms. Amparo T. Rimas, as president and by Rito V. Fabella, as executive vice president.

The new set of officers were elected,  under the reorganized ATING KOOP leadership, during its Central Committee Meeting  held last December 18, 2011, according to ATING KOOP officials.

The other officers are:  Aurelio Jose, Jr., vice president for Luzon; Jose Y. Torres, Jr., vice president for Visayas; Lancelot B. Padla, vice president for Mindanao; Atty. Romeo D. Candazo, secretary general; Erlinda Duque, treasurer; and Mona Benosa, auditor.

Also among the officers are:  Roberto C. Mascarina, executive director; Geronimo Zapata, chair, committee on Finance; Rey Gilbas, chair, committee on Membership; Dr. Cristina Salvosa, Ph.D., chair, committee on Rules; Federico Pineda, chair, committee on Political Affairs; Atty. Eden Sarne, chair, committee on education, platforms and programs; and Fr. Anton C.T. Pascual, independent Director.

Meanwhile, another group who also claims leadership of ATING KOOP listed its officers, including Rafael Puentespina, president; Proculo Sarmen, executive vice president; Reynaldo Golo, treasurer; and Gloria Futalan, secretary; among others, based on published reports.


The first ATING KOOP Party list Rep. Isidro Q. Lico was quoted in said reports as saying that "they were trying to prevent an "intra-party conflict" by convening the central committee of ATING KOOP last December 19, 2011 where they agreed to reorganize the party list."

RESOLUTIONS OF SPECIAL
NATIONAL CONVENTION 


According to the Amparo Rimas faction of ATING KOOP, also approved/confirmed during the January 21, 2012 Special National Convention are resolutions on:  1) the expulsion from the Party of the No. 1 Nominee of ATING KOOP; 2).  resolution of support to the No. 2 nominee to sit as the ATING KOOP Party list representative; 3).  approval of the copies of Constitution and By-laws as amended in the 2nd national convention; 4).  approval of the minutes of the proceedings of the 2nd National Convention; 5).  confirmation of the filling up of vacated positions of the Central Committee; and 6) approval of ATING KOOP Projects for FY 2011-2012.
